YURI KAZAKOV AT THE INTERNATIONAL TATOILEXPO EXHIBITION PRESENTED THE ADVANCED ENGINEERING SCHOOL OF KNRTU
On August 31, the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum, one of the largest events in the domestic oil and gas industry, began its work at the Kazan Expo IEC. Representatives of KNRTU took part in its work, including the exhibition and business program. At the International Exhibition TatOilExpo that opened within the framework of the forum, an exposition of our university was presented, which was visited by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the opening day.
The event, which is being held in Kazan for the 29th time, will focus on decarbonization policy, Russia's energy security, development of the fuel and energy complex and other topics significant for the industry.
Among the participants and guests of honor of the forum are the Minister of Oil and Environment of Bahrain Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil bin Mohammed al-Mazrui, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom PJSC Oleg Aksyutin, Chairman of the Board, General Director of SIBUR Mikhail Karisalov.
More than 160 industry companies from 25 regions of the country, as well as China, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Cameroon participate in the TatOilExpo exhibition. Among them are manufacturers and suppliers of oil and gas equipment, oil corporations and holdings, oil and gas producing and processing enterprises, oilfield services and exploration companies. Russian universities are represented by KFU, Innopolis University and KNRTU.
Acting Rector Yury Kazakov introduced the guests to the exposition of our university. The main topic reflected at the stand of KNRTU was the PromKhimTekh Advanced Engineering School. “We are very proud that our school was supported by both the republic and the largest petrochemical companies - Gazprom, SIBUR, Ammonium. The total amount of funding from industrial partners amounted to more than ₽ 500 million, and from the republic - ₽ 600 million, ”said the head of the university.
Such active participation of enterprises is not accidental, because the Advanced School of Engineering is nothing but a form of transformation of engineering education through interaction with partners. Already now, together with PJSC Gazprom, KNRTU, within the framework of the basic department at Gazprom transgaz Kazan, is opening a new master's program in oil and gas transportation equipment, with SIBUR, two master's programs are planned in the very near future. The master's program has already started with the Ammonium company, and joint work is also beginning to create new mineral fertilizers.
Samples of developments that KNRTU already offers to partners are presented at the exhibition. Among them are prolonged (releasing nutrients to the soil not immediately, but gradually, at a given speed) mineral fertilizers, fluids for hydraulic fracturing and increasing the recovery of oil-bearing formations, oil spill response, samples of agricultural and polymer waste processed according to author's technologies, technology for the production of cumene method of one of the most important monomers - propylene oxide.
The attention of Rustam Minnikhanov and other guests of the exhibition was attracted by the speech of the representative of the partner company of KNRTU, the participant of Skolkovo RTSIM LLC Oleg Sapaev, who presented the development of realistic digital simulators - models of existing oil and gas industries. The use of such simulators will be an important part of the training of future oil and gas industry specialists at the Advanced Engineering School "PromKhimTekh" of KNRTU.
The exhibition will continue for three days.
